Learn About Our Program
Delivering Needed Information In Languages People Understand
The Refugee Response works with hundreds of individuals from every corner of the world that are adapting to life in Northeast Ohio. Communicating every message that would benefit our community of refugees, from information about the 2020 Census to navigating your first Cleveland winter, can be a tricky task.
Existing language barriers are made more difficult by access to translated materials from legitimate sources, the literacy rates of resettled populations and the mediums in which we communicate. The solution is creating content that is both accessible and understandable for every population we serve.
A Process Built on Flexibility
When creating content, we follow a flexible process which allows us to adapt our content to each unique situation.
assess the information needs of the non-English speaking community
create content in partnership with experts in the relevant field
work with our interpreter network to translate content into as many languages as needed
distribute content directly to individuals
Currently Accepting Projects
As we continue to expand our flexible process and develop a library of materials for newcomer and ESL communities, we're accepting requests from organizations and agencies with similar needs. We are accepting contract requests of fee-for-service work, and are constantly open to proposals from content-experts on new projects
