Teen Response Program Manager
Emma is an educator, skilled curriculum developer, and dedicated youth development specialist. At the Refugee Response, she oversees the Teen Response after school program. Emma serves resettled adolescents and their families by challenging students to define and pursue their educational and career goals.
Emma is originally from Chicago, IL. It was there that she first began working with refugees in the non-profit sector. After obtaining her teaching license, Emma taught at an alternative school for students who failed out, served a prison sentence, or were expelled from the public schooling system. Emma had the joy of helping several students graduate and become the first in their family to attend college. Since moving to Ohio in 2015, Emma has coordinated multiple after school programs for high school students across Cleveland. She also has extensive experience teaching teenagers with mental disabilities and mentoring students who struggle with substance abuse.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
Emma graduated with honors earning a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education from Taylor University. She is a licensed educator in the state of Ohio.
