Rachel is the Education Program Coordinator at The Refugee Response. Prior to joining the TRR staff, she was the Experiential Learning Specialist at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She has extensive experience in advising, counseling and program development/management. Much of her work has involved bringing people together, matching people with opportunities, and developing productive and collaborative relationships among program participants. Earlier in her career, Rachel worked with newly arrived Russian immigrants in the Chicago metropolitan area, and spent a year in Israel working with the Russian and Ethiopian resettlement programs.
Rachel earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Literature and a minor in Russian Language at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL as well as a Master of Arts with honors in Higher Education Administration at the University of Denver. She is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at Cleveland State University.
